Tape around edges of canvas – this will give your finished project a white edge.
Cut cardstock to desired size and apply repositionable/temporary adhesive, then apply it to the center of your canvas. I used my Xyron Creative Station with Repositionable Adhesive and it worked like a dream!
Use dauber to apply paint around the edges of the cardstock then use paintbrush to paint the rest of the canvas. Let dry and repeat if necessary, then remove cardstock and tape.
Create image/phrase in Design Space. I’ve got this project saved in Cricut Community so you don’t have to start from scratch! Use the sizing option (don’t forget to unlock the image) to make your image fit perfectly in to the open space on your canvas.
Cut your image from Iron-On material. I used the Maker but this could also be done on an Explore machine. Don’t forget to mirror the image before cutting!
Remove excess iron-on and use weeding tool to remove centers of letters.
This is where the 16×20 EasyPress Mat really comes in handy! Because the canvas is raised (not flush to the table) I need padding underneath. By folding the large mat in half I have enough cushion to apply the iron-on!
Center image on canvas and cover with Iron-On Protective Sheet. This will protect your paint from the heat of the EasyPress.
Use the EasyPress recommended settings chart to determine temperature and time for your canvas. I did 340 degrees for 30 seconds. The greatest thing about the EasyPress 2 is I could do this entire large project in one fell swoop! No more multiple passes on the same project!
Remove clear film from design and voila! Custom Baby Wall Decor!
