Preparing the Clothespins
Paint each of the clothespins in a different color: green for the witch’s hat clothespin; black for the bat clothespin; white for the ghost clothespin; and orange for the pumpkin clothespin.
Paint all sides, applying an additional coat of paint as needed. Set aside to dry.
Uploading the Halloween SVG File
Fill out the form above and I will send you the SVG right away! Open Cricut Design Space.
Click on the “+” sign to start a new project, opening up a blank canvas.
Click on the Upload button from the toolbar to insert the downloaded Halloween SVG file onto the canvas.
Maintain sizes for all Halloween images.
Move to the color sync tab to see all the pieces sorted by color.
Cutting
With the machine set to Cricut Maker, select “Make It” in Design Space.
Set material type to Medium Cardstock, choosing the appropriate weight based on your paper. Place the first paper color onto the standard grip mat.
Follow prompts for loading cardstock paper into Cricut Maker and cutting. When the cut is complete, unload the mat from the machine.
Remove the cut pieces from the cutting mat using a spatula tool if needed otherwise simply peel off the mat.
Repeat for the remaining Halloween pieces and papers.
Assembling the Halloween Clothespins
Layer the cut pieces starting with the bottom layer working upward.
For the pumpkin, the black piece is the base piece. Place the green stem over top of the black stem and place the orange piece over the black piece and glue together.
For the ghost, place the white piece over the grey piece aligning the top edge of the ghost and glue together.
For the witch’s hat, place the black band piece across the purple hat and glue together.
Apply a dab of glue to the tops of the painted clothespins and press the assembled Halloween piece (in the coordinating colors) to the clothespin. Allow glue to dry before using.
