Learn how to create these adorable Back to School Treat Boxes using Xyron and Craftwell!
All week long the Xyron and Craftwell Design Teams are sharing great projects and tutorials featuring some *coming soon* Teresa Collins embossing folders…so I wanted to get in on the action! I love me some embossing folders – and what better way to put them to use this time of year than creating back to school treat boxes! {FTC Disclosure: this post contains affiliate links which means I may make a commission on any purchase – at no additional cost to you!}
Before I start I’d like to say that I ate ALL of the brown M&Ms from the FOUR bags I used for these treat boxes so the photos would be more visually appealing. I’m willing to make these sacrifices for you. 😉
supplies needed:
- Craftwell/Teresa Collins Alpha embossing folder – coming soon!
- manual die cutter/embosser – I used the WRMK Evolution
- 2 1/2 x 12 strip of Core’dinations Color Core cardstock
- sandpaper
- trimmer
- Xyron 3″ Sticker Maker
- filled plastic pillow box(es)
- assorted embellishments

HOW TO MAKE BACK TO SCHOOL TREAT BOXES:
Line cardstock strip along the top inside of the embossing folder and run through embosser. Note – I lined the left edge of the paper up with the B – you’ll see why in a sec.
One of the GREAT things about Craftwell embossing folders is the opening in the top of the folder that allows you to make larger projects – and I did that here! Insert the paper through the opening and line up (I again lined the left edge of the paper with the B so I would have continuity) then run through the embosser.
Sand embossed paper with sandpaper for a distressed finish.
Wrap embossed paper around the filled pillow box, then trim to fit – leaving a small overlap. Run paper through Xyron 3″ Sticker Maker. Because this is embossed paper be sure to give it a REALLY good rub before you remove it from the backing. Then adhere to treat box and embellish as desired!
Another great trick? Instead of embossing paper to add to your pillow box – emboss the box itself! I love this look – and it adds that little extra something to a project in just a few seconds!
