OREO MUMMY COOKIES:
Spooky season is here and it’s time to plan some fun treats for your next Halloween party!
If you are like me, then you probably love easy recipes that use simple ingredients but result in stinkin’ cute treats. Unfortunately, this combo can be hard to come by when it comes to fun Halloween treats because it seems like every recipe has SO MANY STEPS!
For instance, let’s talk about Mummy Oreo Balls (LOL)! I know you only need 4 ingredients but you have to crush the cookies, mix cream cheese into the cookie crumbs, make the balls, melt the chocolate, etc. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have time for that!
Instead, I would much rather make Mummy Oreos that are cookies because they are SO MUCH easier to make!
Don’t believe me, then check out my simple recipe below!

INGREDIENTS:

INGREDIENTS:
- 25 Double Stuf Oreos
- 10 ounce package white melting wafers or white candy melts
- 50 candy eyeballs
EQUIPMENT:
- Baking tray
- Parchment paper
- Small microwave-safe piping bag (you can also use a small ziploc bag)
- Microwave or double boiler, to melt the wafers/chocolate
TIME / YIELD:
- Yields: 25 Oreo Mummies
- Preparation: 15 minutes
- Setting time: 15 minutes
NOTES:
- Use any flavor or ”type” of Oreos that you like to make the mummies! For example, Regular, Double Stuf, Mega Stuf, etc.
- If you can’t find white melting wafers, you can use white chocolate chips or vanilla candy wafers.
- If you don’t want to use a piping bag, you can add white chocolate melts to a microwave-safe bowl, melt them, and then drizzle the chocolate over your Oreos, or cut the corner off of a ziploc bag for a DIY piping bag (but melt the chocolate first then put in the bag).
HOW TO MAKE OREO MUMMY COOKIES:
1. Line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper.
2. Place 1/2 cup of white candy wafers into a microwave-safe piping bag, twist it shut, then microwave it until it’s fully melted and smooth. When you microwave the white candy wafers you will want to make sure that you are on the low or defrost setting. Also, you will want to check on the bag in 30-second increments and massage it, so all your white candy wafers are evenly heated and melted.

When your white candy wafers are melted, set the bag aside to cool for about 3-5 minutes.

NOTE: Do not skip the step of letting your bag cool! This is because if you use it while it’s hot, the chocolate will spill out of the bag too quickly.
3. Place your Oreos onto your baking pan with a few inches between each Oreo.

4. Cut the corner of your piping bag, then drizzle the mummy bandages onto the Oreo. You will want to go left to right.

5. Add candy eyeballs while the mummy bandages are still wet. Then set your cookies aside to dry.

6. Go back over your Oreos and drizzle more ”bandages”. When doing this, you will want to go diagonally because it will give you a better ”mummy bandage effect”.

7. Allow your Oreo cookies to be completely set up before serving. If you want to speed up the process, you can put them in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes.

STORING:
If you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container (in a single layer) in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Talk about an easy Halloween treat! How cute would these be at a Halloween party or at an office party in October?! I swear, I can’t get enough of them and their mummy cuteness!
