Are you looking for a Mickey Halloween Snack for your next Halloween party? Then check out our easy-to-make Mickey Halloween Oreo Pops recipe!
In case you didn’t know, Disney during the Halloween Season is sort of a big deal!
Select nights between August and November, Disney transforms Magic Kingdom and its main street, castle, rides, and more into Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party! This party is filled with all types of fun for both kids and adults. This fun includes seeing your favorite characters (like Mickey Mouse) dressed up in Halloween costumes, trying Disney Halloween treats, seeing the rides made over for Halloween (like Haunted Mansion), seeing special attractions (like the Hocus Pocus Village Spelltacular), and (for the adults) trying specialty drinks!
Out of all of those things, we all know that the best one is the Halloween treats! Whether it is the No-So Poison Apple Cupcake, Tombstone Tart, Candy Corn Milkshake, Skull Brownie, or Zombie Fingers, Disney knows how to create yummy Halloween snacks!
They also know how to price everything (LOL)!
If you have never been to Disney and don’t know the inside scoop, I highly recommend checking out Disney Parks Blog. There you can learn all about the different parks, see prices for their themed food, and see a full list of everything going on at the park during Halloween season.
However, if you are like me and have a) no desire to travel to theme parks in October and b) don’t want to spend money on all the spooky treats (sorry Mickey), then today’s recipe is for you!

HOW TO MAKE MICKEY HALLOWEEN SNACK: OREO POPS
HOW TO MAKE OREO POP BASE:
Step 1: Using a heat-safe dish, melt the black candy melts and 3 tbsp of shortening in the microwave for 60 seconds.
Step 2: Mix and then melt again for 30 seconds. Mix until smooth.
Step 3: Take a Mickey silicone mold, and spoon about 3 tbsp of chocolate into the mold Then using a small spoon or paintbrush, coat the sides of the mold Allow to sit for 5 minutes until the chocolate has hardened.
Step 4: Take a regular-size Halloween Oreo and place it in the center. Then take two mini Oreos and place them in the ears.
Step 5: Cover the mold with about 3 more tbsp of chocolate and tap the counter a few times to release air bubbles. This also helps smooth the top coat of the chocolate Allow the chocolate to harden for 15 minutes before removing the mold.
NOTE: You can stop here and skip down to step 8 if you want a Mickey Mouse Oreo Pop, However, with a little extra sweet addition, you can add a bow and make a Minni Mouse Oreo Pop as well. To learn how to make the bow, follow directions 6 and 7.
HOW TO MAKE BOW AND ADD SPIDERWEBS:
Step 6: Pinch off about 1 tbsp of orange fondant and mold into a ball.
Step 7: Take the fondant ball you made in step 6, press it into the bow mold, and let it sit for a few minutes.
While it is hardening, melt half of the white candy melts and then spoon it into the piping bag.
Step 8: Cut the tip off the piping bag and pipe a spider web detail on the face of the Mickey. Place the orange fondant bow in the center of one of the Mickeys to create Minnie. Allow the chocolate to harden before enjoying!
NOTE: You and your kids could customize these Oreo Pops further with sugar eyes, pieces of gummy worms, crushed-up candy (like Snickers bar pieces), butterscotch chips, and more! You can also use different types of drizzles (like white chocolate ganache or caramel sauce) to create the spider web details on the face. Finally, if you are short on time, white icing stripes could be used to create the spider webs as well.
The possibilities are endless, so just have fun making these Oreo Pops your own!
