You can customize reusable shopping bags in just a few minutes with your Cricut Explore Air and your favorite color of Cricut vinyl!
You can find inexpensive shopping bags at almost every major retailer. When I found this navy and gold beauty at Staples (for $1.00!!!) I knew I wanted to turn it in to something special – and it took me just a few minutes! {FTC disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. HOW TO CUSTOMIZE A REUSABLE SHOPPING BAG:
I created my “happy to be here” saying in Cricut Design Space and cut it with my Cricut Explore Air on Gold Vinyl. Want to make this yourself? I shared the project here. I cut two sayings because I wanted to put it on both sides, but if you only want to have a saying on one side you can easily “hide” the other saying before you cut.
Once I cut it with my Air I added transfer tape to the entire project BEFORE cutting the sayings apart, then used my scissors to separate the sayings.
Peel the backing from the saying (be sure that the vinyl has transferred to the tape) and place on the bag.
As far as I’m concerned the Cricut XL Scraper is the greatest tool that has ever happened to me! I used it to help the vinyl transfer to the tape, and then again to transfer the vinyl to the tote bag. It is a HUGE help and is more than double the size of the standard Cricut Scraper!
Peel off the transfer tape – and repeat on the other side of the bag.
Now you are ready to be the fanciest person at the grocery store! Or Target. Or wherever. But you’ll look good!

Great idea! It would also be fun to make a few shopping bags that say "honey, I can explain". Beth Kingston, you bring such joy to the crafting world. Love you. Shirley

Have you had any issue with the vinyl coming off these bags? I’m looking to do something for marketing with this type of bag and want to make sure it doesn’t peel off. Thanks!
Beth Kingston says
Janet I am so so sorry – for some reason I am not getting comment notifications! Gack! Anyhoo – I didn’t have an issue with the vinyl coming off…the only thing I can think might affect it would be heat and humidity? Hope that helps!
