Fall is here – and that means apples and cinnamon and all the delicious flavors of the season! This rustic tart is an easy puff pastry apple recipe that will make people think you spent hours in the kitchen – frozen puff pastry is the secret!
EASY PUFF PASTRY APPLE RECIPE
I love dessert. And I love Fall. And I love comfort food. To me these apple tarts are love wrapped up in a warm buttery puff pastry! INGREDIENTS:
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons salted butter, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons of melted butter
- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed out
- 3 medium Gala or Honeycrisp apples, cored and sliced thinly
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
HOW TO MAKE Easy Rustic Apple Tarts:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the room temperature butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
4. Take the thawed pastry dough sheet and cut into 6 equal rectangles. Transfer to the baking sheet and spread a couple teaspoons of the mixture onto each rectangle.
5. Place the apple slices with the skin side up onto each pastry rectangle. Fold the edges upwards, pinching to seal the corners.
6. Drizzle any remaining sugar mixture onto the apple slices.
7. Brush edges of pastry with the melted butter.
8. Bake in the oven 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Serve warm!
