Three cheers for easy Cricut projects! With just a few sheets of cardstock and your Cricut machine you can create quick and easy Christmas ornaments and party favors with images in Cricut Design Space!
As a military family we move every few years, and each year when I pull out my Christmas decorations I find myself trying out a new style. That can get expensive – unless you have a Cricut machine! Thankfully it is easy to create easy Cricut projects with just a few supplies – I found this layered poinsettia image in Cricut Design Space and am going to use it to create ornaments, garland decorations, party favors and more. And it is SO DANG EASY! {FTC Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links which means I may make a small commission on any purchases at no additional cost to you.}
EASY CRICUT PROJECTS: POINSETTIA ORNAMENT
If you just want to create one of these you can do it with just a scrap of cardstock. Want to do a bunch? I was able to cut multiple poinsettias from one 12×12 sheet of cardstock. Easy and inexpensive – and uses things you’ve already got in your craft room.
SUPPLIES NEEDED
- Cricut machine (I used my Maker but this could also be done with an Explore)
- Cricut mat (I used light grip because I prefer it when cutting paper)
- red cardstock
- green cardstock
- adhesive (foam tape, glue pen, glue dots)
- twine or wire

1. Find desired image in Cricut Design Space. I chose this poinsettia because it looked like the easiest to put together! Ha!
2. I wanted the petals to be all the same color (again – to make this as easy as possible) so I changed the color of each petal to match.
3. Cut poinsettia petals and leaves.
4. Remove pieces from mat and assemble.
TIP: you can use glue dots to add a bit of depth, or use a glue pen if you want the ability to move your petals around before they dry.
5. Add a sequin to the center for a little extra bling, then add twine or wire to the back of the finished poinsettia.
These paper poinsettias aren’t just for ornaments! Add them to inexpensive cups and bags for easy party favors, add to your gift wrap, the possibilities are endless!
I’m celebrating the start of the season with a Christmas Crafternoon Series with some of my favorite crafters! This month we’re sharing DIY Cricut ornaments and I am loving how different each project is. Head on over to each blog for full project tutorials. We hope this inspires you!
