Easter Cricut Ideas: How To Customize Wood Easter Eggs

If you are looking for cute Easter Cricut ideas, you can add these projects to your list! Today, I will be showing you a full tutorial on how to customize wooden eggs with your Cricut machine. Then, as a fun bonus, I will be sharing 2 more Easter projects you can make with your Cricut!

EASTER CRICUT IDEAS:

The time right before any holiday is very dangerous for me because the craft stores discount all of the holiday stuff and I must buy ALL of it and frantically to make a bajillion projects!! – LOL

Buying discounted holiday items before the holiday has actually happened might sound crazy, but it’s a great way to get those creative juices flowing! Plus, if you have a Cricut machine, making over discounted items is even easier! This is because you don’t need a ton of Cricut supplies or that much time to create a one-of-a-kind piece for your home. 

For example, with just some Cricut vinyl and paint, I gave these plain wooden egg easels a makeover so they could be displayed all Easter season long! 

This project is a great example of what you can do with store-bought items, so I will be showing you how you can make it yourself today! SUPPLIES NEEDED:

• Cricut Explore Air and Design Space (could also use Cricut Maker)
• Light Grip Mat
• Basics Tools Set
• Cricut Vinyl in Linen
• Transfer Tape
• Plaid FolkArt acrylic paint – Titanium White
• foam brush
• washi tape
• Michaels wooden egg easels

NOTE: If you can’t find the Michaels Wooden Egg Easels, you can use something similar or an egg-shaped sign that has a flat bottom.

HOW TO MAKE CUSTOMIZING WOOD EASTER EGGS FROM MICHAELS:

Step 1: Remove the stickers from the wooden eggs and wrap the edges with washi tape.

Step 2: Paint the edges of each egg and let it dry, then repeat with a second coat.

NOTE: I chose to go with the bright colors of the wooden Easter eggs. However, if you don’t like bright colors, you can paint them in the color of your choice.

Step 3: In Cricut Design Space, type “easter egg” in the search bar, and you will find TONS of options! I just picked my three favorites – one for each egg.

Step 4: Resize the egg images to fit the eggs, then “attach” the images (they will turn the same color) so you can cut them all on one piece of vinyl.

Step 5: Cut the images and weed out the excess vinyl. Apply the transfer tape to the images, then the images to each egg. And voila!

How cute would this be at an Easter egg hunt?! They would make the perfect party decoration for the Easter table or outside if you have an area that you decorate. 

Also, let’s not forget that these wooden eggs would make great hostess gifts! You could either make someone a set or make only one and combine it with some other items like candy, wine glasses, etc. 

Either way, this easy Easter Craft is one that you will have to try because I know you will love it!
