I love my Cricut. I mean – who doesn’t? But did you know that Cricut makes a family of hand tools that can make all of our other crafting projects even easier? Come on in and I’ll show you what all the hubbub is about!
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.
The quality of the tools I use for my projects means just as much as the materials I use – I want my cuts to be smooth, my lines to be straight, and thanks to Cricut I can accomplish all of those things and more with their line of hand tools. Let’s check them out! {FTC Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post but the opinions are mine all mine! True Control Knife
Here’s the thing. I’ve used craft knives for a hundred years. I needed them for projects but never thought they were something to be excited about. Boy was I wrong! The Cricut True Control Knife solves every issue I’ve ever had with craft knives AND has better control than any I’ve ever worked with. Thanks to the hands-free blade changing system you never have to touch the blade,
and the blade lock system means your blade won’t loosen as you use it.
Combined with the Cutting Ruler (see below), the razor-sharp edge and piercing tip make it easy to cut through even the thickest chipboard, thin plastic, canvas and more.
Self Healing Mat
I’ve always wanted a mat for my workspace but the only ones I could find on the market were very utilitarian, and darn it I wanted something pretty! When Cricut launched their self healing mats in such gorgeous colors (including lilac and mint!) and patterns I knew I’d found exactly what I needed. Then when I want grid lines I can flip it over and am ready to go.
Rotary Cutter and Cutting Ruler
I am a novice sewer, so cutting fabric has always scared me a little bit. And using a rotary cutter? Forget about it! No way I was getting near that blade. Cue the music for the Cricut Rotary Cutter and Cutting Ruler!
The 60mm steel blade on the Rotary Cutter cuts fabric, felt, denim and more like a dream. It has a quick-release button that covers the blade when not in use, and the handle allows you to have a comfortable grip which make cutting easier.
The protective safety guard and the nonslip base on the Cutting Ruler have made me feel so much more confident in working with fabrics and getting a correct cut every time.
Acrylic Ruler
My ol’ eyes are so grateful for the easy to read measurements on this versatile crafting ruler! The angled lines and the 1/8″ increments make it a must for a variety of projects.
I’d love to hear how these projects will help make your crafting life a little easier. Can’t wait for you to try them!

Hi Beth,
Is the rotary cutter available for left handed people ? I love the idea of never having to touch a blade for a rotary cutter again.
Also I’m still watching parts of the 24 hour Craft day over again. I find new ideas or parts that were shown so fast you need to watch them again.
Happy Crafting and now sewing for you.
Pat

ooh great question! I would think everything but the rotary cutter would work just as well for lefties…but that is a bummer! I had never even thought of that!
Beth Kingston says
Hey Pat I stand corrected!! Just asked my left handed friend and she said the rotary cutter works for lefties too! woohoo!!

I was gonna ask the same thing-wondered how well these worked for us Lefty’s?
Beth Kingston says
Hey Lisa! I think the rotary cutter might not work for lefties…which is a bummer! But everything else would work just the same. It is such a great question though – I am going to forward it to Cricut!
