With some Mod Podge and a few inches of ribbon you can create custom cake toppers for any occasion!
I am a ribbon hoarder. There. I said it. 15 Minute Crafts: Custom Cake Toppers
These will need to dry for several hours or overnight – but only take about 10 minutes to prep and five minutes to finish. You only need a few inches of ribbon for each topper, so this would be a great way to use up your scraps!
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
- Plaid Crafts Mod Podge Matte
- assorted Plaid Crafts paint
- assorted ribbon
- foam brushes
- rock candy sticks
- hot glue gun
- scissors
- paper straws (if desired)
TUTORIAL: HOW TO MAKE CUSTOM CAKE TOPPERS:
- Cut ribbon to assorted lengths and trim edges as desired. Coat with Mod Podge and let dry. Want to make wavy flags? We cut paper straws in to fourths and shaped the ribbon over the straws.
2. Paint the tops of the sticks in assorted colors. Let dry.
3. Once dry, apply hot glue to the straight edge of each ribbon, place stick along edge and fold over. Hold in place for 15 seconds or until glue cools.
4. Add to your cake or cupcakes and enjoy!
